I've had the Barker 4 wheel 42 gal one for 10 years and it works great. Pnuematic tires and very quiet. Don't think I've ever used it on the black tank.

Our former TT had 20 gallon black and gray tanks. With just me and my wife we never filled the black tank even though we try to use ample water during each flush. That being the case our portable tank was only used for gray water.

Yes, I've taken it many times and didn't use it. But when you need it...you need it. I'm not breaking camp and hitching up just to go dump.

You can use gloves on the black water if it makes you feel better. But as others have stated, the black tank doesn't fill up as fast. I would look at the Barker tank with pneumatic tires. I'm not sure what size they come in. My last trip, I pulled my tank to the dump station since it was close. Other times, I tow it with my truck.
Hi Everyone - I am considering buying a portable waste tank for some longer trips we have coming up and am looking for advice. What is a good model? Do you recommend for both black and gray? My tanks are both 30 gallon, what size should I target?
Thanks in advance!

That being the case our portable tank was only used for gray water. Now that we've recently upgraded (40 gallon black and gray tanks) I'm guessing we will rarely use the portable even for the gray but better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it.

Although others will disagree I never use my tote for Black Water. As previously mentioned it is virtually impossible to get all of it out so where does it get stored that the smell isn't a problem?
