- PowerdudeExplorerWhat's the trim level?
XLT, with or without the premium package?
Or is it a Lariat (leather seats, power sunroof, LED lights) etc??
Ford sure seems like it hiked prices by about 4-5k for 2017. Guess all them beer cans being crushed and turned into sheet metal are really expensive...
I paid 42k and change out the door for my 2016 6.2 L CC SB with the XLT premium package (in june-ish of 2016).
At that time, Lariats were going for about 46-47k. I shopped about 5 different dealers in my area. All of them were within about 1k of each other, but the options on the trucks varied somewhat. I found almost exactly what I wanted in stock, within a couple of weeks.
Good luck. - MFLNomad II

A loaded XLT can be optioned to a higher trim level. My Excursion was considered an XLT premium. had everything the limited had except for heated/memory seats and Auto temp control.
However at $47k for an XLT gas 250.....That seems high since I`ve heard of people paying that for the next model higher with a diesel.
When I ordered my XLT, there were 3 different option packages, that could be added. They were the XLT interior pkg, XLT value pkg, or the XLT premium pkg, the latter being a fully loaded XLT.
dodge guy, with an Excursion? Life changes, no problem! :B
Jerry - TvovExplorer IIsamson, I probably missed the details, but is it crewcab / extended cab / regular cab? 8ft or short bed? 4wd or 2wd?
Last few vehicles I bought from dealers (used and new), I did some basic research on the internet to get an idea of prices for different option levels.
Remember, those internet prices from Edmunds True Value, Kelly Blue Book, etc are from the DEALERS, and they are very aware of the information available on those sites.
I emailed a few dealers / salespeople, and only a couple got back to me - one of whom I bought my truck from. In talking with people, it seems there are still car salesmen out there who do everything they can to get you into the showroom to work out the deal, they virtually refuse to use the internet. It is changing, but their loss when they stick to the "old fashioned" way of sales. - dodge_guyExplorer IIA loaded XLT can be optioned to a higher trim level. Start with MSRP. Discounts I expect on pickup trucks are over $10k off MSRP. Some people will buy these 2017 models at $12-15k off before the end of this calendar year, so find a price point you can accept between $15k off by waiting 6 months and MSRP. - dthfsaExplorerI just purchased a 2016 F250, however my dealer allowed me to test drive a 2017 but we could not purchase one due to recall. All of them are on hold and my dealer told me that Ford says it will be June before parts are available.

Interesting they will even sell you the truck, dealers in Michigan are telling me they can't sell 250's because of the recall. Wouldn't even let me test drive.
His truck must not be included, or the dealer is breaking the law. FMVSA prohibits the selling, or offer for sale, of a vehicle that does not comply. This dealer is following the law when he will not let you test drive.
NHTSA is going after dealers for violating the law. - nohurryExplorerWow, $47K for an XLT gas. Glad I bought my "forever" truck when I did. I bought a CC F250 6.2 XLT new in 2013 for $38k, then traded it in for my 2015 XLT diesel at $48K. Prices sure have jumped.
OP, I'd try to get them lower. Walk if you have to. Lots of other dealers, and you need to remind them of that. Having said that though, if you have the money, and are happy, they're great trucks.
Re: V10 vs the V8 6.2. The 6.2 with the new trans will do the job. It will however, do it at much higher RPM. I pulled my 7500 lb 28 footer with the 6.2/ 3:73 and it hummed up the hills at 4500 RPM just fine. It's what they designed it for. Good luck. - beagles7278ExplorerInteresting they will even sell you the truck, dealers in Michigan are telling me they can't sell 250's because of the recall. Wouldn't even let me test drive.

Good question, I was under the impression that the 7.0 would replace the 6.2 Some knowledgeable person will chime in.colliehauler wrote:
Would it be worth the wait for the new 7.0 V-8 gas motor?
Is the 7.0 coming to the f-250? I heard f450-550 and manual trans only.
I tow a 32' trailer with a 2.7l turbo engine and it has no trouble. I think the 6.2 is rated to something like 15k lbs in an f250.
