Hey everyone, i pick up a motorized trailer dolly to help move my trailer around in tight spots. however there is a problem with it. Hoping someone has one and can offer a little help. The problem is the crank on the motor shaft just spins, not sure how it secures to the shaft. Does any one know? thanks for any help.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone and especially to dieselbobcat. He was able to send me the plans and part numbers. Now i know what i need to do to fix it. The piece that i was missing is a keyway which locks the sprocket. Thanks again for all the help

I have a bunch of information for you that I can email. I have the plans you are looking for. Please PM me and we can arrange for a way to get them to you. I was going to build a mover before I found a powercaster on craigslist.

I have winch with something what looks very similar. You need to turn the black knob all the way in, to push the clutch pads together.
It works 1-way and when turned the other way it will disengage.
Hopefully this is what I think it is.

The locking mechanism has a UPC code and some labeling. You may be able to data- mine the function from that.

I looked on line and the motor is from the uk. Can't find any manual on it. The sprocket on the shaft slides back and forth. I can pull the black knob on the side in and out but it doesn't do anything. Some how the sprocket has to be lock to the shaft.

That unit appears to be home made from plans that can be purchased on Ebay.

The drive motor is a repurposed 12DC winch. The knob on the left in your pic should be the freespool mechanism. It should pull out and half turn to engage...

Look over the motor and see if you can find a nameplate. Get online documentation from there....

The drive sprocket is seated where the winch cable would be wound.

I would think it is either a shear pin that possibly broken or a key on the shaft. Should be very easy to take apart and see whats broken or missing. If you have to I bet a shop that works on lawnmowers or maybe outboard motors could figure it out.
