It will hold the window open until you release it.
I was hoping that would work but the window doesnt open 180 degrees up against the unit, it is about a 100 degree opening that is why i was thikning lift struts
Would you actually be able to mount lift struts and still close the window? Not sure about yours, but I am pretty sure there's not enough room in there for struts when closed on mine.
Maybe you could make up a aluminum prop rod that can be attached to the window and frame with bolts and wing-nuts, and removed when you want to close the window?
