So excited to try the new truck out for truck camper hauling duty.

New truck has a lot more power than my 2011. Also seems a lot beefier in the frame, transmission, axles etc... 14K GVW.

Both my 2011 and 2016 are Laramie Black on black 4*4 with 4.10 gears, but lots of little new cool stuff, Navigation and instrument panels are a lot better.

Will see if we need to do: Rear Bigwig, lower stable loads, SuperSprings, Airbags, etc.... one thing at a time.

Are going to Roy Benson this weekend for the central oregon sxs meet and trail run?

Nope, have not heard of it...which group is this? Facebook, online forum or what? Private message me the info and I'll look at the group for future events. I went riding at TSF - Browns camp last weekend. Might run the RZR on Saturday at Browns Camp again. I do love Bend, Redmond areas and riding at East Fort Rock.

Finsruskw..
I decided to go ahead and buy a set of lower SLs and not worry about a missing overload spring. New truck is now rigged with SuperHitch & Extension, Talons all around. The lower SLs will finish the job (for now, of course, there always something else to add...). Ready for some fall camping!

My upper is engaged w/the camper on board, don't think an upper SL would be of any use. The lower is not. I could use the lower SL and , adjusted it to engage w/the unit on board, would help the sway bar quite a bit, I would think.

It don't look like much of a job to fab a pair up from some 3/8" or 5/16" flat stock

the frame mounted spring perches on my 2015 DRW Ram appear to be welded on.
but even if you could weld them on the SRW truck, you would probably need to also add that long that hits the spring perch with load.

I think we need a better name than "overload spring" because its not really overloaded when they start to work, its a way to use softer springs for empty ride, but give weight carrying capacity when heavy load lowers the truck to the point of spring contact.

On Ford F-250 's without the upper overload, you could order the parts and add it. If the DRW and SRW frames are the same, this may by possible on the RAM.

In an interesting offline conversation with finsruskw, we've determined that the SRW 3500 doesn't have an overload spring (my truck is a 2016), but the DRW does have one (his truck is a 2015), so he could use an upper stableload, but I can't. On the flip side, I can more easily use a lower stableload as my lower helper spring is predrilled and has a rubber bumper in it from the factory. Mine is shown here.

I must admit, I did have somewhat of a tail wind both ways.
That probably helped in the MPG dept!
Wasn't a whole lot of hills either way also.

Figured up fuel mileage for the last (1st trip actually) trip I took w/the Lance 1181 on board.

1136 mile round trip, 79.115 gal of fuel mpg.

You left out the answer! :S :B LOL It's 14.3588 MPG. And a number I can only wish I could get with mine.

Gee, it's the only thing I dislike about my Ram. Perhaps my plethora of travels out on the windy Great Plains is the real culprit, but hauling a 10-8 SnowRiver D/S which weighs less than your 1181 the absolute best I can get is about 11 MPG at about 64 miles per hour. It's been even lower, showing 10.5 at times.

What did the RF frame mount look like?
Did it sandwich the frame, or did you need to pull the bolts through frame holes and it bolted on the outside only?
