I agree that 3rd party warranties are a scam. Case in point. I purchased a 2005 Cummins dually with 81000 miles on it partly because it came with an extended warranty(3rd party). A year later it needed a new tranny. The repair shop said the warranty wasn't worth the paper it was printed on and wouldn't even call the insurance co. So I called the insurance company and they asked me if I kept up the dealer service. When I said yes they asked if I had the paperwork. I said yes and they covered the new tranny. What a scam that was! Incidently, I also used a different repair shop.
