Recommendation of 17' to 19' Travel Trailer

We really like our little Fun Finder -- see links in my signature below -- but if you are not too tall, I think that the fiberglass eggs are the most bomb-proof trailers. (I am 6'3" and found the eggs to be too cramped for me.)

Take a good look at Casitas or Escapes. All fiberglass and tough little trailers.

I looked at the small RPod before I bought my Ascend. only overhead cabinet was a small one in the slide out. absolutely no hang up cabinet. also considered LivinLite but none of the small ones had a sink/vanity in the bath.

We love our Chalet Takena. Modern design, lightweight, with all the features. Tows great. Ours is a 21 foot model but they have an 18 or 19 foot one, the only major difference is the bed is sideways rather than walk-around like ours.

We liked the Fun Finder too, which was a close second. Quite a bit heavier, but it's a 3-season trailer with the enclosed undercarriage. We would have bought it had the bed been oriented to accommodate someone over 6' tall. I think the Takena is better overall build quality.

Thinking teardrop style, Rockwood makes the R-Pod. Got the 50cent tour of one last year....probably about 18'. Nice looking, had a large u-shaped dinette that would need to be made into a bed at night - a drawback IMHO - nice kitchen area. Bathroom was the wet bath style rather than everything being separate. If I were looking for something like the R-Pod, the wet bath would not be a deterrent. We had that in our boat and had absolutely no problems. The couple that owned it seemed to have brought the vast majority of all they owned, so it was tough to see just how much storage they really had, but as far as fit and finish, looked good. We've had 2 Rockwood trailers - a ROO 23Ss HTT and now our Ultra Lite. No problems with either.

Aliner - the Expedition has a cassette potty/shower option and is around 18 feet long; folds down like a popup to tow; sets up in one minute with hard sides - no canvas! We have the Classic, but wish we'd gotten the Expedition for a little more money.

I'll second the Camplite. We have the 21BHS and really like it. They have smaller models as well, such as the 16DBS.

I have the Wildwood 195BH.

It works well for my wife and I, but can accommodate a couple of grandkids for the weekend when needed. We actually use the bunks for storage most of the time though.
