Did good doing the AC current... Got the red lead put into the 10 amp plug on the meter and set the dial to the 10 amp position but it looks like your DVM auto ranges.. nice!.
AC is pretty easy. Put the red probe back onto the main V O A plug, set the meter to read AC 200vdc,unless your meter auto ranges, and you can put the Red and black test leads on the black and white wires. No polarity to worry about.
If you go to the ground wire you have to use the other lead and put it on the black wire which is hot, or should be...hahahaa.
If you measure from the white wire to the ground then you will get a small reading sometimes. Usually it should read 0 volts, otherwise it will trip a GFI.... That is probably the .6 reading.
