O.K. another newbie question. I have dometic ref/freezer in my new TT. Can't seem to get it to work?? Does the gas & pilot need to be on and lit even when using elec? The longest I have been able to test with elec was 24hrs and no cooling at all. The gas bottles were off at the time. I got no instructions with the TT so just having to wing it. Any basic help would be appreciaated.

There should be a series of buttons on the top front of the refer. Off/on, Gas/elect/auto, and temp set. Turn it on, press the button to electric, set temp to three, close the door and go inside and forget it for 24 hours. After about two hours you should feel the floor of the freezer getting cold.
OOPS that is for a RM2852.
BTW the slider thing you refer to is the adjustment and should never need adjusting. One way makes the box warmer, the other way colder.
The refer needs 12VDC and 120VAC or Gas to start and run. 12VDC for the control circuit, and then gas or 120VAC for the heater to cool the unit.

I assume it is getting the power it needs since the inside light is working.
Mine has an "Auto" light that is on when in that mode. when gas is on the "auto " light is off. There is also a "check" light that should come on if pilot is off or if gas runs out. So I ran for 24 hrs in "auto"(light on. when I checked next morning, the "check" light was on also.

Is the unit level? Absorption refrigerators need to be close to level to work properly.

With a unit that new, there shouldn't be any problem with the refer.

They do, however, require 12v from either converter or battery whether on electric or gas. Is that functioning?

On mine, the light is on, if on Auto. If on gas, no light, until I run out of propane.

Well that's how new I am. I filled out profile but it's not showing up ???
In any case the TT is a 2013 purchased new in Sept from dealer. I just buoght as second owner last month so it's only about 6mo old.
I red up on the model and it says the temp settings are preset a factory. So there are no adjustments I can make. the only thing I see is a little plastic slider on one of the fins in the back. I have set the buttons to run on Auto but after a couple hrs the check light comes on.

There's nothing in your profile so I don't know if 'new' is new or used.

No, gas does not need to be on to run elec. 24hrs should show cooling in the freezer.
