Removing TPO roof edge caulking

Ok so it looks like the caulking on the roof between the TPO roof and the rain gutter is starting to crack. Now I use Naphtha to help remove caulking on the rest of the camper but what about the TPO roof ?

Two years ago our Lance Dealer used Liquid Roof to cover the roof seams. It seems to be a very good system. I'm getting ready to recoat now just as affordable insurance. It is a two part system, follow the directions carefully and be sure to get the stirrer that goes with a portable drill, to mix it. The application process is not complicated nor taxing on the knees. It goes on quickly. I froze the left overs and it was usable when thawed. A quart is. more than enough for our 11 footer. I googled to find a supplier.

You can use naptha on the TPO with no worries. No need to completely remove the old caulking as you can apply Dicor self-leveling over the area with the crack. A more permanent solution is to apply Eternabond tape but it is a great deal more expensive and seldom worth the additional cost unless you have a problem with the TPo roof itself.

Hi Surfrat ..
Allied building supplies was helpful a few years ago when i went there. 1 enterprize pl. 11801 off s. oyster bay rd.
They carry materials we can use on rvs as well as good advice. Also a source for eternabond tape and caulks.

I found some TPO reading on the subject. 'Barney' offers two other links bottom of p. 1 http://www.rv.net/forum/Index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/25340316/gotomsg/25340907.cfm
