replacement emergency exit hatch

Does anyone know of a better replacement hatch to put over the bed that will last and is made well? Looks like I have a Heng's 66621-C2 Escape Hatch/Exit Vent with Aluminum Frame - 22" x 22" and it is not made very well and the cost seems high for the reviews it received at amazon. Mine is cracked and is the main reason for all the water in the cab over that I am rebuilding now. My current opening is actually 21.5"x21".
  • If it's only the hatch portion you are wanting to replace, you could get a fabrication shop to make one out of .060 or .090 aluminum. The middle crank bar from the existing hatch could then be spot welded or riveted on the new top.
  • There are a lot better hatches in the Marine department if you do a search you maybe able to find something that could fit
  • I'd check out West Marine. marine stuff is actually built to take some punishment unlike the wimpy RV components.
  • Looks like I will try to fab up something myself as I do not want to pay $600 for a marine hatch and not going to pay $100 for rv junk.
