I was looking up the wiring pattern for a standard 7 pin RV plug and I got contradictory information. Which is correct?

I all depends on what kind of a connector you have. If it is a RV trailer it should be the lower, straight blade connector. And the information on the connectors is correct for a RV trailer.

You are correct on wire colors.

By the way, I understand that colors aren't standardized among manufacturers. That's fine. But in these two images, the center conductor plays a completely different role!!
