Sewer Drain Hose

I picked up a couple of the "self locking" caps also. They worked fine on our last outing of ~300 miles round trip. They seem better but as you said ... time will tell!

Bought a self locking end cap. You push in the center once it's in and the shape change "locks" it in place. Time will tell.

I dont have a hollow tube bumper. I also dont want the sewer hose in my storage area.

I bought a tube that connects to my back bumper that holds the hose. The cap just twists off to access the hose. Easy and no smells in the camper.

I just coil mine up and throw it in the storage compartment

Instead of a screw, just drill a hole thru the top of the bumper with the endcap in place and then put a SS cotter pin in the hole through them both. That will hold the endcap in place, be very easy to remove, and won't rust.

For what it's worth, the bumper is a bad storage location for the sewer hose anyway since it is put away wet and the water drains out inside the bumper rusting it out.

Can't disagree with you re: water and rust, but I feel like that's a minor concern since end caps have holes and water evaporates on a warm day (just let me have this one).

That would be a sight to see, someone's slinky sliding out of the bumper at 55 mph, would definitely expect a horn honk out of it. On the other hand, it's not like someone was behind me all the time on the back roads.

I'm telling myself that I probably threw it out because it was leaking and I never got around to replacing it. That's easier to believe than someone stole it, but mlt's story gives one pause.
