Slide not working

I tested the slide on my 2002 Coachman Cascade a month ago.and all was well. When I tried to close it today there was nothing but a slight clicking sound from the power switch located in the cabinet wall. The fuse it good and there is power to the switch. there are four 2x2 relays that are marked POWER PDD NDD and BREAK. My gut feeling is that one of them is bad. How do I check them? Are they interchangeable? The slide has only been open and closed once each year since I bought the trailer new. I would appreciate any input. thanks in advance.

Been there, done that. Those battery connections can cause all sorts of wired problems. Glad you found it.

  • I would check the battery contacts. Also, my slide units have shut offs. If the slide is in a bind or the systems gets too loaded, it shuts off for a while. When it cools, it will reset itself.

Battery is good. Been plugged in since October

I'm no expert but I'm betting on a bum battery or the wiring to the battery. The slide probably draws a fair amount of current. Sounds to me like it's not getting it. How are the cables and the connections at the battery?

  • If it has been a month, are you plugged into shore power? Is it possible the battery has drained down enough that it won't operate the motor for the slide? Parasitic drain on my batteries will drain them in a month if I don't periodically plug in to charge. I know my slide runs much better on shore power unless the batteries have a full charge.
