The 9000btu RV unit makes a lot more sense.
Only 8A @ 24V in eco mode, that is ~17A@12V with a 12V to 24V converter. DC to DC converters are very efficient and not very expensive, found a 40A output model for $120 on Amazon.
I didn't say it couldn't be done but it adds another layer of unneeded complexity.
