- downtheroadExplorerIt can certainly cause a leak and potentially some delam.
It needs to be repaired/sealed. Some caulking (Sikaflex) will do it or you can get cosmetic with it and do a complete fibre glass repair which is much more involved.
Sad to see...hopefully you neighbor makes some amends in some way. - jfkmkExplorerNice neighbor. Yeah, I'd have it fixed to avoid problems. I'd also approach the neighbor. If they don't offer to pay for repairs, file a police report and an insurance claim.
- joeshmoeExplorerWell, here's the thing, he didn't intend to do it. He's 92 yrs old. We actually get along pretty good. BUT, that's no excuse. He's gonna pretty unhappy when I show him estimates.
Part of me wants to just settle up with him for some amount, give him a stern warning and just cover it with some caulking and put the awning over it. Other part of me wants to teach him a lesson about damaging other peoples' property and get the most expensive estimate I can.
Anyone know roughly the going cost of a fiberglass repair like this? - bgumExplorerGet it fixed. Don't lecture to him as you have no right to do so. Let him fix it right or take to small claims.
- Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIAT 92 he shouldn't need a lesson in being responsible but then again......
Get it properly repaired or accept/live with the consequences down the road.
Water intrusion is an RV KILLER - ccxnolaExplorerMy suggestion would be to fix it, maintain friendly relations with your neighbor and get his kids or the cops to take his gun away!!
What if it had been a 38spl JHP?? Or a person instead of your rig??
At 92, most (I said 'most', not all) folks that old should not have a gun of any kind!! JMHO - jimh406Explorer IIII'd put Sikaflex in it, and call it good. He's got enough to worry about as a 92 year old. Good on him that he's even on planet earth still. I'm hoping I can get to 92.

Go with your gut feeling. No one "intends" to damage people's property. And no one wants their property damaged by careless people. Up to you to pay for it yourself..or file the police report, report it to insurance, get the estimates then let him make the decision to pay for it in cash...or you let your insurance handle it. What is he going to hit with the BB gun next?
Had a crazy neighbor shooting the deer that went through our properties with BB gun...shot 7 holes in our camper, he shot a little baby deer who ran off in the street and got ran over by a car because of it. Baby did not die in the street. Sheriff had to come out and put it down in front of kids. I filed charges. Don't even ask me what I wanted to do to that old man for damaging my camper and causing the death of that baby deer.
He shot them because they ate his grass...that was green as Maui, but we lived in the desert with water shortages and drought. Ultimately up to you. - shellbackcva59ExplorerA little sikaflex and a sticker of some kind to hide it will fix that. I'd tell him you'll do the repair yourself, but it will cost him his bb gun.
