- Reddog1Explorer III agree with you on this being its own thread.
I still haven't found my info on the maximum allowable width. I think it is 102" plus 6" for tie downs. That would be a total of 108". Take this with a grain of salt till I verify.
Wayne - Wagonqueen_TrucExplorerIf gussets being referred to as the triangular supports, then yes. One on each end. I was going to tag these pics on the end of the original post, but I thought as a moderator you would see the pics/post faster as a new one. Hope they help.
- Reddog1Explorer III ask you on another thread if you would post photos of the mounting under the side wings of your TC. I am going to modify my SRW lift to fit my DRW truck. I am exploring different methods and materials. The tendency is to over build. Thanks for posting the photos.
It is a little difficult to see with the white paint, but is there only two gussets from the tubing to the plate?
I will have to find my notes on the legal width in California. I do recall there is a width plus tiedowns. Due to the TC being cargo and the lift also serves to tie it down, you can go the maximum. - Wagonqueen_TrucExplorerWOW. SORRY. I actually went out and measured. I am only 8.6 or 104 inches wide. Oh and that is inclusive of the motors. They don't stick out any further than the Lift.

Well not necessarily. Your truck is over 8’6” wide at the mirrors, which stick out further than the Stable Lift. It’s not really certain if the lift is one of the excepted pieces of hardware that can extend beyond the standard 6’6”.
When you mount a dually Stable Lift, you choose your own width, it’s adustable. The main concern is how tight you want the clearance between it and your fenders. Too close is almost guaranteed to be trouble waiting to happen.
I found that 107” wide (total to the outside) was my happy place.
It has never been an issue, nor is it the widest piece of hardware on the truck.
I was going to go a little wider for comfort sake. I wish I would have, but at 106, after a few times putting her in in my driveway... I have pretty much calculated where the truck needs to be to get it on in one back up without wiping out the fenders. LOL. At least so far so good. - Wagonqueen_TrucExplorer

Yes your correct however since this system actually includes the tie down mechanism, it is legal and excluded as overwide. I checked the laws in my state. - burningmanExplorer IIWell not necessarily. - Wagonqueen_TrucExplorer8.8 and legal
- Kayteg1Explorer IIWhat is the width of the thing?
My calculation is
8' between the fenders
add 1" clearance on each side =2"
5" (?) for each motor makes it 9' wide????
