You have used your rig as much as or more then anyone here, there, or anywhere. We lived aboard and sailed our ketch "Imagine", for 150,000 nautical miles and 23 years. I was planning a sail to Ireland after a refit and called an old friend, a marine surveyor, to suggest a plan for the rebuild. After review he stated that," when you bought your boat and sailed it, raced it and lived on it to the max, another bought one just like yours, kept it in a marina, sailed it only briefly in good weather and it could be purchased for a 5th of the cost of repairs, on "Imagine".
After a cost analysis, we parted out the yacht, bought our TC, and started a new chapter, our nimbleness being a factor too. These are our pleasure machines, safety and cost are the issues that determine useful life. A gifted antique car restorer friend says," Never love a car, it won't love you back." So we think rebuild or replace, which is less costly?
