I think the diesel 350 gets a different axle than the gas 350 or any 250 on the new Ford. The diesel 350 axle might be the size of the AAM in the GM/Ram HD trucks. I believe the Ford previously was always a bit smaller.

I liked the 17 super duty i looked at, but the price of a bare bones stripper xl with rubber floormat interior and painted steel wheels was way more than i paid for my ram, which i liked better overall anyway and tne ram had the heaviest steering and suspension components of the 3, based on my inspection of all of them. The ford was nearly as heavy though

I am ford man and did really like the new super duty, but the price for what you get really turned me off...and i must admit, this dodge is really nice. All of the big 3 are, so its all personal preferance. Just my .02

Don't all trucks have recalls from time to time? My Tundra had a couple and our Chevy Traverse (though not a truck) had several.

You're right, those new Fords are awesome, but a bit too pricey for me. I went with the RAM CTD, Big Horn which was quite a bit cheaper. Both are good trucks.

I understand after buying our new chev. Smart phones, smart TV's and smart cars. I was thinking how simple our 05 chev truck really is and happy about that.

You can still purchase any truck with a bare bones package. For me I rather have all the creature comforts that make the total package really nice.

I wouldn't rule out a recall on a new Ford. All brands are susceptible.
