Went to the dealer today and checked out the only two other options from the manufacturer.
One is a pair of swivel rockers. But sitting in it I felt like I was a bobble head the way it moved all over the place. Fairly comfortable in the reclined position but no good for us it it won't stay still.
The other choice is a hide-a-bed sofa. It's only about 2" deeper front to back and feels more comfortable than the regular sofa. The downside is if it's used as a bed, when folded out, it'd be about 6" away from the dinette seating. We'd have to crawl over the bed to get from the bedroom to the kitchen. Not really an issue for us as 99% of the time it's only going to be two of us. We have a bedroom door and could always get to the kitchen by going outside and back in if someone was sleeping on the hide-a-bed. The two of us could also use it folded out for watching TV on the "big" 32 inch TV across at the dinette as opposed to using the little TV in the bedroom. Closer to the kitchen for snack food and favorite beverages too... Another plus is that we'd be capable of sleeping a total of 6 comfortably in a 29' TT. We'll lose the storage under the jacknife sofa but didn't have much in it anyway.
They had the theater seating in one unit. I didn't exactly find it was super comfortable so maybe it's a blessing in disguise.
So unless the factory says no way, it's the hide-a-bed sofa. This coming Monday is apparently the last day for any last-minute changes as it's about to hit the production line. Then we've just got to deal with the anxiety of waiting for it to arrive.
