tire wear

if the roads you drive on have started to rut out the front tires will be in the rut and the inner tires will be in the rut and the outers will be on the high spot, thus more wear

I haven't and don't plan on rotating mine. I figured no more expensive as they are I would just let them wear and replace but the inside outside wear had me baffled.
Reminds of a funny story, now its funny but it wasn't at the time. Took my truck into Wally world to let them change the oil and rotate tires. I asked them if they were experienced with duallys and they said no problem. I have mag wheels as most factory trucks do these days, but when I came out to pick up my truck the mech...I use that term loosely, had swapped my inner dual, wheels and all to the outside on the rear and had used my outer dual on the front and had used my fronts on the inside rear so I had black rims on the rear and semi-polished rims on the front, didn't even bother to try and clean them ...I seen that and asked him what he thought he was doing and he didn't know but that's the way they always do them he said! Wouldn't even let them touch it again, just took it to my local repair guy and asked him to assemble back to stock which he did at no cost. No more wally world for me.

I'm running 75 in fronts and 65 in the rears.

My wheels are location specific so I waited until 25k and again at 50k and paid the bucks. At 75k I left them alone and finished out the tires at 83k. They were BFG's. I've kept pressures at towing levels, i.e. 60psi on rear and 75 on front. The tires wore very evenly, at least to the eye.
I plan to follow the same strategy going forward.

Don't rotate the rears. Front's side to side every 10K or so.

Why would you not rotate the rears? Makes no sense to me, especially if all six wheels are steel. I know on some of the Ford models, you have to dismount the tires to rotate the tires, because the wheels are position specific. At that point, won't even touch them. I drive a Dodge and a Chevy dually,...and both have steel wheels. I keep it simple. I rotate them every 6k miles. The pattern i use is front to inside, inside to outside, and outside to front. I get the full life from my tires.

My first dually and 15k miles on R500 tires and they haven't even wore a 1/32nd.

my little brother's "training wheels" wore fast as well... till dad lowered them and finally the back wheel got some wear.... but he did look funny going down the side walk, him and his bicycle flopping from one side to the other and back... :p
