Tires for a 2008 Passport

Trailer is a 26' box, weighs about 6k loaded. Tandem axle, 205/75/14C Duros that are original to the trailer and while one side is pretty cracked haven't given me any issues but the camper only goes more than a 90 min drive from the house a few times.
I drive around 65mph.

Planning on a trip from Indiana to Tennessee and looking at the Carlisle RADIAL trailer tires. Still good on the Constitution tires? Thought of upgrading, the rims don't have a psi I can see but have a weight rating of 1870# stamped on them.

Ironically a local place has many of the C in Stock but has not availability so far for a D range tire.

The rims are rated for 1870#.

The RH is being discontinued.

The HD is available in load range D and will work just fine on your rims.

They have Maxxis on Amazon. Though confirming the manufacture date might be a pain in the ass.

Kumho 857 is an excellent tire for 14" rim.

don't you have a regular tire guy, that you buy tires from on a normal basis. I do. And I just tell him what I want, No matter what brand. and he gets them for me. I bet your tire guy would do the same. Especially if he wants to keep you as a customer.

Honestly not really. Live in a small town. Local dealer quoted me 100 per tire for some tire that didn't sound familiar. My Tahoe rolls on a tire that is wired enough that I have to go out of town to get it and then have it balanced/rotated locally. I have only purchased one set of tires in the last 3-4 years.

If buying today, I would look at these: Carlisle Radial Trail HD
I suggest D rated instead of C.

Issue around here is finding Maxxis is tires. I have even used their dealer locator, called a place on it who had no idea what I was asking for. Most only seem to deal with their smaller stuff like ATVs and Golf Carts I think.

Just got out of my weak bias tires and went with Maxxis.

From what I can tell now, there is nothing wrong with the Carlisle RH or HD tire. Certainly years ago before the RH Carlisle came out, your thoughts seemed to be correct.

But over the last 5 years or so, since the Carlisle Radial Trail RH have been put on trailers, there haven't been any stories of them being junk.

I currently have Maxxis on my trailer. But if I had to replace them tomorrow, I wouldn't concerned one iota of putting on the Radial Trail RH or brand new HD version Carlisle.

Trust me when I say. Changing TT tires on the side of the road is no fun at all, and not anything you want to do.

Not a thing wrong with Carlisle tires. I have been using them for years and have never had a problem.

Were I you, and I just bought 5 of them. I would go ahead and get MAXXIS. Most including me believe MAXXIS to be the best. Even my tire guy, that don't care what brand he sells you. Told me that MAXXIS are the best, and to stay away from Carlisle.

As for your current cracked tires. I wouldn't leave the yard with them.

Trust me when I say. Changing TT tires on the side of the road is no fun at all, and not anything you want to do.
