Torklift install question

Hi there. I'm back.

Installing the torklift mounts I got last fall and have a hardware question. The ones for my truck pinch a plate along the inside of the frame rail and use leverage to hold it all in place. The old flanged nuts spin freely, but the instructions call for a locking flange nut which are usually hard to turn as the thread pinch to hold it in place.

Should I be using locking flange nuts? I have some, but if I shouldn't be, it could cause the torque reading to be inaccurate.

I can reach out to them, but am working on it over the weekend and would like to do it right.

In my experience, all needed hardware is supplied.

I bought a takeoff set and some of the hardware was rough so I was replacing. They do sell a hardware kit for a price that is ridiculous when I can buy grade 8 locally. I have a message into them.

In the meantime, I have lock washers on as the only flanges at the store I was at were locking flanges vs serrated which is what the kit has.
  • They are pretty popular. Try looking on their site or youtube, or etrailer to see if your exact kit has an install video.
