Torklift super receiver extension length

Hi all,
We installed a Torklift Superhitch Magnum 20k on our 2008 Ford F450 when we bought our Lance 992. We're ready to add the receiver extension but I'm not sure about the length. I measured from the back of the truck bumper to the front of the camper bumper as per Torklift's measuring guide, that's 26 inches. I called and was told we could go with either the 24 inch or the 28 inch.

The 28 inch would render our step unusable while on the road of course, but that's not really a big deal.

Length suggestions?

You can also consider the shorter one and use a longer ball mount. That way with the ball mount removed the receiver is out of the way.

  • I think it makes more sense to measure from the hitch.

    Here's how I helped a friend:

We laid out the ball mount on the ground, placing it where it would give the most clearance of the camper, and retain usability of the rear step while travelling. We then measured from the hitch pin of the truck hitch to the hitch pin on the ball mount.
VOILA... we got the next size up Supertruss extension
  • I gave mine an extra foot to be able to use my step. My trailer doesn't weigh all that much where I had to worry about too much tounge weight.
