Not sure how anyone would know that from your above quote. Plus your statement is totally incorrect. Also as an owner of an Aisin why would you make such an incorrect statement.

Mine acts quite differently with 4.30 gearing. Most of the time I stay in 6th. A 3000' climb is usually in 5th and a 4000' climb in 4th.

Yes, I believe I already said that. It also won't shift into 5th until 55.

As for the Allison has nothing to do with this but you have often indicated you are the expert on the automatics used in the Ram and GM trucks.

I would think you could have answered the question I put in quotes. I am curious what is the correct answer?

Simple answer is yes.

I have the Aisin with 3:73's, I use 6th gear all the time in tow/haul pulling our Suites. Depending on the grade I will lock out 6th to prevent up and downshifting frequency going up. Going down usually lock it into 4th, not higher than 5th, EB ON. :B

2016 Silverado 1500 does not lock out any gears in tow haul.
