Been busy building our new home, but managed to head out to the desert for some much needed family time.I love our land off old julian hwy as we are so close to abdsp now!Can you find the 3rd car Garage for the parking of the rig?We were able to finally get away for the weekend and got to experience the Amazing desert mist :) we headed out to see some palm groves and mortero palms offers great access to piedras grandes Wow how green the desert is right nowA stop at mountain palm springsMiracle of life in the desertThe quiet solitude of a place far from the familiar and where the bonding of loved ones grows closer. What an amazing place in our backyardNows the time to visit this diverse desert. PM me if you need any advice :)

Great trip report, isn't it nice to see are desert green and it's just going to get better over the next couple of months. Only problem is lot's of weeds in the yard. Your slab looks great and I notice how green the area is.

I was told of Pegleg area was a good place, but is there a better one. Also where do I go to see those beautiful rock formations you show in you pics. Beautiful! As a native Californian I have traveled there a number of times but never seen it as green as it is now!! I'm planning to go soon and hopefully the wildflowers will bloom and take over areas of the desert brown carpet! :)

Those adventurous kids are visibly growing from one TR to the next! It's great that you are spending so much time camping with them. These are the "good old days" that you will later remember with pleasure.

Yeah the pegleg area is huge and very open. Its also close to borrego springs. If you want to venture to the northwest area of the park blair valley is real nice right now. I see large rigsin there all the time. Mountain palm springs campground is free and room to get a large trailer in. The best place is Egg mountain, which has a nice spot.

The rock formations are at piedras grandes, near to town of ocotillo. You will need a 4wd vehicle to reach them.
