Travel trailer recommendation

We have decided to move up to a bigger travel trailer. We have a hybrid now. The choices are a bit overwhelming.

We do have a specific list of wants. Maximum overall length of about 30' or 31'. At least a queen size master bed in a separate or some what separate room, 74" long though 80" would be better. Full or double size bunks. Wrap around dinette. Slide out. Our tow vehicle max is 8,100 lbs GVWR.

We are considering new, but a few years old may save save us some money. I'm sure there there are as many suggestions as there are members here. Fire away!

Buying a new trailer! DO NOT buy an RV from Camping World and do not let service or repair your RV!!!!!

Getting close to that time of year for RV shows, assuming they have them.

We learned a lot as it allowed us to walk in many units and find a floorplan that we "she" really liked.

We knew what our tow vehicle could comfortably tow regarding its payload and tow rating and simply wouldn't walk into a trailer that didn't meet that criteria.

Salesman will tell you right of the bat that your half-ton will pull any of their offerings up the kilimanjaro.

Know the numbers going in.

find the rv you want new/used hire a rv tech to inspect it. best money you,ll have spent. knowing there no hidden surprises.

Sounds like you have a nice 1/2 ton or SUV tow vehicle... Max Tow Rating of #8100 tells me that... I have an F150 "MaxTow" with #11,00 tow rating...

I tow a #7000 GVWR TT and it's all I want to tow and I've been towing stuff for over 45 years...

Your list of requirements are fine... But, it might need a more beefy tow vehicle...

Not saying you can't tow something like that with your rig... Just saying how comfortable are you doing it?? 🙂

Buying a newer used RV will save you some$$$. When you find one, spend some $$$ and take it to a good RV shop and have them do a complete check of all the systems and mechanical overall conditions of the RV. This could save you alot of $$$ down the road in the future. Put some LT tires, new bearings right away.
