As many of you know I sold my camper last week and last weekend I unloaded it and put all the stuff in my garage. Today was the first day that I had a chance to start sorting and WOW was there ever a lot of stuff that I did not remember having in there. Never thought that a little camper could hold so much but there is a lot more space than many people would think.So far some of the surprises have been more cloths than I thought I owned, enough batteries to light up a small town, LOTS of food - at least a weeks worth, more cooking utensils than a average restaurant, tons of bedding, towels and rags and a lot more misc items that I did not know I owned.Now to pack away most of the extra stuff so it does not get packed into the next RV :B

I know just what you mean. I go through ours once a year. Gret way to shed a few pounds. It is surprising.

too funny, most of my cabinets are less than half full even on long trips. I stripped out all the extra stuff that my wife and MIL loaded in as just in case stuff, like a wet swiffer, silver polish, 7 oven handle towels... that sort of stuff.

When I downsized from a 5th wheel to a TC I was shocked at the stuff that was hidden in the compartments. Stuff that probably had never been used.I do find the TC tight, only the essentials. I did just find a bunch of wasted space behind the cabinet drawers, trying to figure out how I can make use of it.

Truck Camper Storage... there is more than you think :-)

It is not always working that way.
Last year I moved from old house to new one 100 feet away. Thru the process I threw away a lot of stuff that was sitting for years.
Guess what? The item that was in the basement unused for 10 years, once I had it hauled to garbage, become necessary 10 days later.

When I sold my Desert Fox in 2009, I was amazed at all the stuff I had crammed in to it.... duplicate items, stuff I hadn't used in a few years, etc.

This reminds me of a thread I saw a number of years ago, and it might have been a truck camper owner. At the beginning of each season, they'd lay out a big tarp on the driveway, unload everything, and stuff that didn't get used the previous year, did NOT go back in the rig. That was their solution to not having excess stuff.

My thing is tools, a box or bag for each rig, boat and TC so I either have it all or not.

I also carry a back pack as a go bag in case we break down and it has it's own list of stuff...

Same here. I emptied out the TT when we sold it, and I could not believe the amount of stuff that was in there. At least 300 lbs of just bedding. Taking the TC out for its maiden run next weekend, without DW. Daughter and I will see how little we can get away with.

I guess I'm in minority and just don't care how much I bring along as long as I have everything I need. I also consider the camper as an evacuation shelter in case of natural disasters, so it is always stocked and ready to roll. Some people stock up for their trips, while we stock up after ours.

When we UP graded from a TT to a TC we found items in the TT that hadn't been touched 13 years and 40,000 miles. We're trying to not make that mistake again.

I've never filled all of my storage compartments either. Maybe in a few years. :)

We do find that we need to go back through and find out why we thought we needed stuff. ;)
