I am looking to do a brakes maintenance next month, and looking for a ways to lift our TT (with 2 axles).As alternative to use bottle jack (and placing a bunch of blocks under the jack), can I use tools like trailer aid plus or a few blocks under one wheel in order to remove the next wheel?Won’t it be too much weight on one axle?Is it a good practice?Thanks!

You'll be fine. That's how trailer owners install the spare when we get a flat. No need for a jack. Just drive one wheel up on blocks.

That is a good way to adjust the brakes. You can easily get at adjuster, when nothing is in the way. IMO, it will not be too much wt on one axle! I've used my TA plus for this on several trailers, including my FW.Jerry

It just means you will have to do the same thing four times instead of two and you will need to get the tow vehicle involved. I use a bottle jack and two jackstands and have plenty of room to adjust when the wheels are off. A cement block with a 2x on it brings the jack way up.

I like using the jack that came with my truck. It's small and cant accidentally drop down like a floor jack. Probably quicker than starting the truck and moving up and down a ramp.

4400 lbs is split between both wheels on the same axle.

In other words, each wheel is rated to support 2200 lbs..

And, yeah, I am not a fan of using one of the wheels to support the entire weight of a trailer by driving up a ramp to lift a wheel off the ground.. It is real easy to overload the other axle and tire by doing so, but folks that do that, are not willing to listen to reason.

I personally use several well placed jacks, stands and blocking and lift one wheel at a time..

The owners manual for my fifth wheel recommends using blocks or a ramp to use the other wheel to lift a tire off the ground. I use the Andersen Rapid Jack and it works great. Fast and easy plus the security of having the other wheel coupled to the ground. Downside is you can only work on one wheel at a time. I can do a bearing check and brake adjustment on all four in around half an hour.

The equalizer and spring bushings wear fairly quickly. Right now I am waiting for the rest of my bronze bushings to arrive so that when I take everything apart to swap the equalizer out for an Equa-Flex I can replace all the bushings to work with the new wet bolts all around.

If you going to pull the wheel and check the brakes, it's smart to re-grease the wheel bearings and also check the shacles and suspension parts. Many/most OEMs use very cheap components that wear out quickly.

Just to see it looks normal? Is there anything else to do/inspect during this work?
It will be my first time, I’ve planned to clean inside the drums and re-grease the bearings.
