- AlschottExplorerI went with a simple voltmeter from Mouser, just voltage of the battery is shown, it'll bounce around as the load on the battery changes, and will give you an idea of the condition of the battery when most of the loads are removed.
Most of the other functions given by others is interesting, but since I am not doing battery research the current draw and remaining capacity readings are just icing on the cake. KISS - RickWExplorer III

I use one of these on my repowered electric bicycle. Note the display module will read the output of the shunt module wirelessly. - Ski_Pro_3Explorer

Interesting product, but the description is full of a bunch of rambling nonsense from someone that doesn't speak engrish very well.
Took me some trial and error to figure it all out, but it seems to do just about everything. Good project when it's rainy. - trail-explorerExplorer

I use them in my trailers and boat....

Here is a simple, cheap volt meter that plugs into any cigarette lighter outlet.

$12 - work2muchExplorerVoltage by itself isn't a very good way to measure SOC of the battery unless you can isolate all sources of charging and discharging for a while. But if all you want is current momentary voltage almost any cheap meter will give you a decent measurement including those you just plug into the cigarette lighter.
If you want a better meter to measure SOC consider a shunt based meter. More work and money to install but better info.. - Kayteg1Explorer IIYears ago I bought 12V thermometer with outside sensor for about $10.
Side bonus - it also displays voltage.
When voltage is not giving you real battery stage, it sure will tell you good time to start generator. - LwiddisExplorer IIAs towpro said..."remember any time load changes you will see voltage change"
I find my inexpensive volt meter irritating bouncing up and down, and have unplugged it.
