- 69_AvionExplorerI have seen them bent up before.
- seaeagle2ExplorerWe are new to travel trailers, when we had our wd hitch and friction sway bar installed, during the walk thru the guy told us "don't back up with the sway bar, the turn radius is different than the hitch and you'll bend or break it". So I just unhook it when I back up.
- Ron3rdExplorer IIIWith my old EZ Lift WD hitch with friction sway control, I never removed it while backing up, but I could see how it could be a problem in certain configurations or angles. Your situation may or may not allow it. Thus the disclaimer.
- camp-n-familyExplorerYo can reverse with it on but it is not advisable in tight turns. It can bottom out and bend the bars or break the ball as pictured above. The sharpness of turn before bottoming out will depend on which side the bar is mounted on.

- gaymeadowsmanExplorerWhen we used one(Before the Equal-i-zer), I would remove the sway bar while my partner was checking us in at the camp ground office. There was no need for both of us to leave the truck, and rally wasn't needed driving through the park.
- beemerphile1ExplorerYou can bind and break the sway portion of the WDH.
You're using a WDH with a class C MH? What are you towing? - evanvalkExplorerThanks All, that's what I was thinking. Ed
- Dakota98ExplorerThe first thing I do upon arriving at the CG, is stop & remove my sway bar. When leaving & just before exiting the CG, I re-attach sway control. Tight turns, forward or backwards - not recommended :B
- LynnandCarolExplorerWe always remove ours prior to going into the site and then re-install after leaving the site. Have seen folks bend them if backing into sites at an extreme angle.
