City water inlet has an internal check valve............cheapo plastic plunger, spring & o-ring
O-ring gets dislodged, plunger gets cocked, scale blocks it........leaks.
As suggested sometimes you can reseat it by pushing in on it.
Usually they continue to leak.
Replace city water inlet assembly OR.......cap it off with a 3/4" PVC plug OR install a garden hose shut off valve
I have a 90* elbow with a shut off valve on my city water inlet......makes it easier to connect hose, takes the strain off when hose is attached and it has a shutoff valve that I can close when not using connection. I leave it attached and just cap it off with OEM cap that was on connection.
