Hi all, I wanted to get my numbers checked. It is a 2004 Yukon XL towing 2011 keystone summerland 26' bunkhouse BHSS. The Yukon xl is 7000 lbs GVWR, 13000 GCWR. 3000 FAWR, 4200 RAWR. I have four kids 10, 8, 4, 2. Two dogs 40lbs and 10lbs, me and wife. We did this on the way back from a camping trip so add maybe 60lbs for food consumed?

The way I am reading this I am under my GVWR (240) and GCWR(440). My trailer is 6370. TW is 10.8% or 11%. I am under all my limits.

Two observations though. I don't like a tw of 11% would rather have 12-12.5%. Do I just shift things forward from the back?

Second 300 lbs is transferred to the front axle and 120 lbs back to trailer. Are these numbers okay?

Third, I am at my max FAWR, is there a way to back off of the distribution to the front axle or is this normal?

Fourth, I am close and will be over sometime in the next few years. I was looking at a 8.1 suburban to replace this with. What is the unloaded fuel mileage on these? Anyone have experience with the 6.5TD suburban towing, any light on the capacities of these, I am having a hard time finding info on them

Ok. I've got it. It is a washer that you just turn and it changes the head tilt.

I am not famailer with what you are describing. You need to get a little less tension on the spring bars. Assuming the chains are where they need to be length wise now, then taking a little tilt out of the head is the idea.

Ok thanks. When you say washer. I have the old Reese system with the cam with different numbers on them not washers. Do I go with the next lower number?

It is fine until it gets too low. If you are sure that 11% is as low as it is likely to get, then it will be fine.

I had weighed it before about a year ago with everything but food and clothes and the TW was 13%. That was when the propane was full. both are nearly empty now and I wonder if that is the reason for the drop.

Your numbers are good. I wouild take a washer out of the hitch. That will reduce some of the weight on the front axle.
Was your FW tank full? Is it in front of the axles? Were the waste water tanks full? Where are they?
Weight can move around in a TT during a trip. FW gets used and ends up in the black or grey, food gets consumed and ends up in the black, etc. Depending on the answers to these questions.. On your way to camp, your TW may very well have been higher
