What should I expect to pay for Blue OX package?

I'm still investigating what Class C will fit my needs, but I wondered if anyone could give me a ball park on Rigging up a 2010 Honda CR-V with the Blue OX tow package, and what kind of shop does the work? At my only local RV place, I wouldn't trust them to put the front end back on correctly.

I'm not looking for the wireless brake set up, just the towing capability.

I've seen estimates on Youtube that are shocking.

Regardless, I will be buying a Class C that will tow it.

Thanks in Advance.
  • Thanks All. That is about what the Blue Ox produced video said, but then they went into wireless braking receivers, etc. I just figured those were MSRP prices.
  • My son and I have done similar so here are the estimates. Blue Ox best tow bar- $900. base plate for the toad- $500 plus another $500 or so labor. Brakes for the toad- $1500. Misc. wires,etc.- several hundred. Total of $3000 give or take several hundred. Ours was done by a trailer shop that specializes in RV's. A 30 ft. Class C flat towing a Chevy Sonic.
  • Rough ball park number for a DIY package. $2500. Braking, tow bar, lights, rock guard. Labor will add $$$. Also depends on how fancy you want to get in that braking system.
  • I figure around 800 installed. generally, $350 for the (BluOx) baseplate (+ installation) another 600 for the towbar (Roadmaster). But that is generally what I paid some years ago. You already have the receiver on the motorhome, right?

Now...extras: brake system for the toad, diode kit (or magnetic lights).

Nothing is cheap with an RV.
