On Craigslist be prepared for lots of people who know nothing at all about their RV and scammers. I spent years looking for a used RV on CL, every single one I looked into the people didn't know what engine, holding tanks sizes, GCVWR or any weight ratings to speak of. I had one tell me it was sold, they posted a new ad and then (from another email) I contacted them asking questions and all of a sudden it's for sale.. until you ask questions that a legitimate owner should know.. these people did that 3 times before disappearing. They sounded legit, just for some reason knew nothing at all about the RV...
Also it's a fairly common scam on CL to put something up for a really good deal (generally in the 1K ish range, something people would possibly bring cash for) then arrange to meet somewhere semi secluded and rob you.. Free ads tend to attract all manner of scum.
I ended up buying new, same with my Jeep.. so many knackered up Jeeps out there 'modified' by idiots... would likely end up costing more than new to fix.. so I went new.
