what size of tongue jack do I need?

Just a quick note to say thanks for all the feedback, I ended up getting the ultrafab 3500 and installed it myself. It already had a 20am circuit breaker with the jack, so like you said, just three bolts, splice the fuse holder into the wire and connect it up. Seemed to work just fine, I installed this weekend and will get more of a test when we take it out for Memorial day weekend. Heading to Lake of the Springs here in northern Ca.

I saw on a review site of ultra fab products to turn the head of the jack to face the side, not directly froward facing the TV for tail gate clearence. My old trailer had it facing forward and I could not drop the tail gate wnen hooked up. New trailer I installed it sideways and can drop my gate fine. I have the 4000lb ultra fab. love it.

Thank you APT and everyone, I ordered the ultrafab 3502 based on i have a 2 inch tube and the price seemed very reasonable.

I think only Barker makes a 24" one. If you want a Barker brand, get the 24". Otherwise, I use 4 2x4's nailed together under my jack.

I would make sure you have a circuit breaker on the (+) positive wire to the jack. Some come with one, some use a fuse, and others don't include anything. A 30 amp automotive circuit breaker is around $5 at your local auto parts store.

anyone have feedback of whether a 24 inch should be considered or 18 inch lift. I ran into on scenario last year where I didn't have enough with the manual jack and had to put many blocks underneath it. Not sure what my manual lift height is, but I suspect is 18 inches

Easy install. 3 bolts and run 1 wire to battery +. Only thing to note is diameter of the shaft is two possible sizes, 2" or 2 1/4". Some jacks are universal. Note this page says one jack fits both.

Your tongue jack only lifts the front of the trailer when not connected to the TV. When using weight distributing hitches you may have to raise the tongue after connecting to the TV in order to hook the bars or chains in place. When doing so you will be lifting the rear of the TV as high as needed to hook the bars or chains. The tongue jack will need to be able to lift the rear of the TV along with what ever is in the back of the TV. Size the tongue jack accordingly.
