- Ray552ExplorerI keep mine down as I get high winds at times. With them down less likely to be blown over. Tornado could still pick it up but straight winds less likely to roll it over.
I put the nose up and use the 5 jacks and 4 wheels to give me as much contact with the ground as I can get. - pryanExplorerThanks everyone! Seems like it's unanimous. Stabilizers up!
- brireneExplorerI never put mine down unless I'm camping, and I've had some pretty good snows on top of it.
- bobndotExplorer IIWhen I had a full time site , most of the seasonals stored their units in an open field during the winter . Not one person stored a TT with jacks down.
I did not use them in case a tire went flat, plus the snow load on the roof . IMO, that would be a lot of weight on those jacks . (45 other seasonal TT owners felt the same way)
My 37' TT sat on its wheels with a load of snow on the roof for 11 winters in the central NY snowbelt with no issues and I never had a roof leak or a tire issue. I never re-caulked it during that time. - wrvondExplorer III don't actually store mine. I am in and out of them both throughout the winter, so I leave the stabilizers down. If I weren't going to spend time working in them and such, I'd leave the stabilizers in the stowed position.
- B_O__PlentyExplorer IIThey're designed to stabilize it not bear any weight. I usually park mine with the front pretty high for good drainage and that's it. I leave the rear stabilizers up.
