How about you just run the wires and mount it on the side of the cabinet? It would still see some of the heat, but at least the heat wouldn't be trapped.
I thought about that, but since I have a speaker bar mounted above the TV all the heat comes out the end of the cabinet.
I can get thermostat wire (one small cable with the wires inside) and I can access the wall cavity inside the cabinet. From there I think I can pry the moldings around the ceiling, and between wall panels to hide the wire.
At least that's what I'll try when I get a chance.
I should have just tried this in the first place, but was looking for an easy way out.
