Wolfcreek 850 Fantastic Fan install

Hi,

Just received my fantastic fan 1250 that I am going to install in the WC 850. Have a few questions:

1) The ceiling trim casing that came with the fan is about 4" thick- Do you just trim to fit?

2) We have a camco vent cover shroud that I put on and would like to use it to cover the fantastic fan. The original vent that came with the camper has aluminum casing allowing a secure fit. However, the new FF 1250 is all plastic. Is there a trick to this or am I outta luck?

Hi JP, I cut the casing to size but be careful, can't uncut it. When I removed the old vent I found a lot of rotten wood that had to be removed. I had to build a inside frame to cover what the trim didn't. The FF won't operate until the vent cover is raised a certain height. Before permanently mounting the Camco make sure the FF vent cover can be raised enough to allow the fan to operate and the vent to open to max. Can't see an issue with the al trim. I just removed it. However the holes may not match. Probably won't. I reinforced mine with thin plywood from underneath as a back up for the screws Don't forget to seal the screw holes.
