We left through Level Pebble (Flat Rock, AL) and have made it as far as the BassPro shop in Plattsburg, AL.

Hope to get to Mobile or even Biloxi, MS tomorrow. I was stationed in Biloxi at Kessler AFB 51 years ago.

We'll be heading west from there... california in a couple of months... home in August
We hope to see some of you over the next 5 months.

Don't tell anyone where we are:W

Inquirees have made me think a bit...

and to share 2012 SPRING LOOP

the general plan... miss the tornados.... be home before the first of June

We are heading south thru Jimmy Carter country to Tallassee... and he coast... getting away from the middle America E/W interstates and the tornado alleys.

We'll be heading west and then down toward Brownsville... then follow the border to NM... North as far as rocky Mtn NP and then head east thru Nashville toward the end of May... we have never been inside the State Capital.

I'll be posting some as we go...

PS... the camperport did great in the storms, no damage that I can see... best $3500 I spent last year. I highly recommend it.

It is sad when you realize that man's whole life is in the little shopping cart. Makes you wonder what happened to do that to him.

Did you get by the old Mel's Drive-in? It was a famous spot for driving hot rods and watching girls in the 50's when I was stationed at Travis AFB near there. I also lived just a mile or so from the capitol when I worked there in 1992 for Sprint.

Oh yeah, the city is also where Rush got his "big break" in 1988.

Sacramento is an easy city to navigate in... with a little knowledge

Go east on "J" and it will run into Fair Oaks Blvd... coming back west Fair Oaks Blvd turns into "I"... one-way streets will do that to you.

When you get just a few blocks further from the capitol you can observe the most basic RV... it has wheels and a bed for his pet...

he was doing a drawing... a very good one... I peeked as we walked by.

If you live long enough and travel extensively... eventually you'll get the dreaded "BLUE SCREEN"... but on our new Laptop... that we'd bought 3 months before while on this trip to replace the one that I'd worn the letters of the keys.

I took pictures of the screens and took the computer back to Bestbuy.. a bad memory stick

We blend in... 25 1/2 feet long, 8 foot wide, 10'6" tall... how do you hide an elephant?... Why out in the open of course... no one notices us... even at night when we are the only one around.

... from a Thai resturant about a block away... on the other side of the rail/bus system tracks.

Shared secrets... urban boondocking!

We parked here for several days... between 12th and 13th on "I"... it is on a city parking lot beside a fire station. $8/24 hours.

We have also stayed there in years past. Very close to the capital, Old City, resturants, side walk cafes, museums, memorial monuments... we like it there.
