Delta T means difference in temperature by the way (the last item) Thanks. The unit is brand new. I'll check the items you mentioned. Im thinking maybe they don't communicate well Carrier/Dometic. Rear Carrier not giving any fault codes.Carrier to Dometic conversionSo I finally get my Dometic roof unit dialed in with my Carrier base inside. So I thought. Ac unit runs fine then maybe 3 days into our trip the unit shuts off Carrier board blinks 5 times. ( I think high voltage) is that code. Go outside pull power (yes on a surge protector)and disconnect batteries. Unit clears error from memory ran fine for a day or 2 did the same thing. My rear Carrier unit top and bottom it's all Carrier does not have any issues. I found only one post on the internet someone else was having this problem but nobody had a solution. Any thoughts on this? I checked my power coming in its fine. Am I just going to have to bite the bullet and buy a dometic bottom inside and thermostat?? I am I right saying the board is just not liking the Dometic at some points??? Thank for any input I know the Carrier AC issues since they went out of the RV business have been around. Thanks!!Re: Dometic JunkSo it just going to get worse then. Great!!Re: Norcold 982 A7 when on LP GASAre you saying it works fine on electric power? And has and issue on propane? Sorry I skimmed over it quick.Re: Dometic Junk StonedPanther wrote: k9-keno wrote: QCMan wrote: I envy you sir! I sure wish I had a life where nothing I bought ever needed repair. When is the last time you had a Dometic installer tell you to your face we sell junk now? I'm going to say never. The DOMETIC INSTALLERS are even saying it. Nothing made today is anything like the way it use to be made. Yup Dometic made some great stuff over the years. But the quality now is ****. Do you have any idea how many AC units a month my local dealer chucks away that are under 5 years? You would be shocked. If you think I'm complaining because of one incident I'm not I took the time to research how horrible the quality is now.Planned obsolescence! "But the quality now is ****" And has been for quite awhile. The only thing worse than their product quality is Dometic's Service and Support. Going back to 2016/2017 their AC units had tons of failure complaints on a lot of brand specific Boards like Forest River Forums. AC units that lost refrigerant charge, just quit, or had the fan explode while in use a few months or weeks into ownership of a new rig. The common denominator was how long it took to get the Dealer/RV Manufacturer/Dometic to perform a replacement as that was the solution every time as no parts could be had. Then the replacement failed in a short amount of time. Perhaps LCI should buy out Dometic LOL. Exactly!!!! Don't hear a response from my peanut gallery guy who said I need therapy.. lolRe: Dometic Junk QCMan wrote: I envy you sir! I sure wish I had a life where nothing I bought ever needed repair. You cover the motor but won't cover a wire that was pulled from it. You can't put the wire back in the motor. And the Rv companies are producing junk now. Look at Dometic AC units they are horrible. Starting to think everyone is in the same bed with this stuff. As fat as AC Carrier should have been welcomed more. They produce units that lasted 15 plus year. With that said why does the OLD Dometic stuff last 15 years plus but not the new stuff is lucky to last 1 to 5????Dometic JunkPlan and simple. New Dometic AC installed 12/22 failed 6/23 but only used 3 weeks tops in that time. 15k unit failed. I mean how can you be in business with this stuff. And it's not just me. How I miss Carrier.Yup expensive but will give you 15yrs plus. No wonder the rv co didn't want them!!Re: Bad Lippert O ringThanks for posting this I have the same problem. I'll try the bolts but if not I have a hydraulic shop near me that has o rings. This is a common problem and Lippert would rather sell you a new 2k pump.Re: AC Question & I'm away!Wanted to thank everyone for the answers. Wanted to up date you on what happened. So they tested the capacitor and it was fine. What they did find was the compressor was not working has hard as it should. Also they believed maybe a small leak. I look at the capacitor myself and it was running fine. The service company we used was Dometic rv service out of Orlando FL. They were amazing!! He installed a new 15k btu unit and they have a Carrier to Dometic adapter. So we still get to use our Carrier remote and the Carrier was 13500btu so we have a bigger unit now. Cold in the back with just the front unit now!! I have to be honest I don't have anything bad to say about Carrier lasted 15 years!! And I still have one in the bed room. The service tech said they were built like rocks and he said he never saw a 15 year old unit that looked so good. When all said and done we paid 1478.00 without tax. So we are happy and cold!! Thanks again for all the advice!
