Not sure that it would work well if you plan to move around a lot. My first suggestions would pertain to the US Postal Service.Re: Hold MailYour only option would be to have mail forwarded. You could have this sent to an address of a family member or neighbor and have them send important mail on to an address you are staying at. Forwarding mail temporarily can be done for up to a year. You simply complete a temporary change of address noting start and end date? Mail will be forwarded to the temporary address until end date and then automatically mailed to your home at end date. We have used thIs for several years. Magazines will only be forwarded for 60 days but the rest will be forwarded for the time period you select. At the end of 60 days, magazines go back to the publisher, NOT to your home address!Re: Longer term storage questionIf rodents could be a problem, you might want to use one of the many suggestions out there to deter them. I have used a product called "Fresh Cab" that has worked well for several years. About $14 for a box of 4 at Tractor Supply. I'm sure you will receive numerous suggestions on what works for others.Re: Social Security question/helpI have visited my local SS office on two occasions and had short waits, spoke to a real person and had my questions answered. The first visit was almost 45 minutes while a very persistent advisor managed to find the error in my name registration that was my fault at age 18. I can't fault my local office or staff in any way. Now the steps to correct the name issue is a little rediculous but even then, the advisor encouraged me to gather the necessary documents and come back to her. She was quite willing to walk me through the correction if I decided to correct a 52 year old mistake on my part. They are not all deserving of the bashing.Re: Social Security question/helpI had that "existence" issue as well. The SS administration did not have my name matched to my SS#. Seems when I registered, I spelled my name wrong. When they located me and pointed out the mistake to me, the next question was how to correct it. Seems I needed to have my birth certificate, a notarized document from someone who has known me at least 20 years and other criteria. I have made it to 70 with no problems so the error remains.Re: winterizing question Low point drains open or closedLeave open in case there is a small amount of moisture in the lines. I am assuming you are not using an antifreeze after blowing lines out. If using anti-freeze, of course low point drains would be closed.Re: Social Security question/helpOnce you are able to access SS and register, the system will pull up your most financially best 10 years of employment, calculate your eligibility and then allow you to view your monthly benefit and shows you how that would change based on your choice of year and month for retirement. When working, this system is a great resource, so keep trying.Re: Social Security question/helpI retired at 63 1/2 and SS actually has a sliding scale to calculate your benefit down to the month. Mine was actually 63 years and 7 months based on the actual date of retirement. There is a chart available to you on the SS website with this information once you register with SS website. It will draw up your personal financial showing your benefit based on the retirement year plus month.Re: tray for eating?I think we are all guilty of having a cup of coffee, snack or sandwich when we travel. Boat supply companies sell pedistal tables with a mount that screws to the floor, a post sits in the mount and a table top with cup holder indentations. Three pieces. The floor mounts are available either as a raised cone or a base that is flush mount with the floor between driver and passenger seats. You can take post and table top away when not in use. Anything but an attachment to the steering wheel. I don't feel the need to be constantly driving so we stop to actually enjoy a break and a sandwich. Hope you can change his mind.Re: How will the abolishment of Medicare affect your RVing?Paul Ryan would like to see Medicare become a privatized benefit with a voucher system but he has proposed this for a number of years. It has gone no where yet and there is no assurance that it will with Trump in office. Let's wait until the poo poo hits the fan before we complain about the smell.
