I have a 1988 gulf stream with the John Deere chassis and a Ford 460 motor. I need the diagram for the vacuum lines. Some are not connected and some are rotten and needs replaced. I am planning on replacing them all. Thank in advance for any help anyone can give me.Re: 1988 gulf stream 460 Ford motor battery charging problemThanks for replying. Yes, the start battery does not charge. I have found what I think is the Isolator, but it is not hooked up the way I have seem them hooked up. I just went out and looked at the setup, on the right side of the isolator I am getting 13.5 volts, I would say alternator voltage. ON the middle I a getting 12 volts, thinking it is battery and on the left side I am 12 volts. From what I have read about Isolators the center connection should be the alternator voltage. What does the battery disconnect switches do. If my chassis battery switch is in the off position, the starter will not engage. After I came inside I thought about the invertor with the trickle charge while the AC being plugged in. I need to go check the voltage with the AC unplugged. I know enough about MH electrical to make me dangerous. LOL I wish I understood as much as I know, or think I know.1988 gulf stream 460 Ford motor battery charging problemI have a 1988 Gulf Stream with a 460 Ford Motor, the chassis battery does not charge with the motor running. There are 3 solenoids on the firewall, I think they have something to do with the charging of the batteries, chassis and couch. The alternator looks like it is working, from what I can read on the voltage from the regulator. I cannot get to the Alternator to read the B terminal. I am hoping I can read the B terminal from the solenoids, but having trouble with how they are hooked up. I get 12 volts on the batteries when the motor is running, should be around 14. Thanks for any help you can give.1988 gulf stream on John deere ChassisI have a 1988 gulf stream on a John Deere Chassis. The fuel pump was working but had carb trouble, I took the carb off and had rebuilt Now I cannot get the fuel pump to work. It has a fuel interrupter switch, does anyone know where it is at and how to reset it. It has a 460 Ford engine. I am also wanting to know if anyone has an idea about what might be wrong if it is not the switch, why it would just quit after the removal of the carb. I might have dirt in the gas tank, does anyone have an idea of how to clean it without dropping the tank. Thanks for any help you can give me. JerryRe: 1988 Gulf Stream. If you remove your driveshaft ...have your duck tape ready so the cups with the internal needle bearings don't fall ...you may be able to tie up the rear part of the driveshaft or remove it form the center carrier bearing.... If you are not sure...you might be money ahead to let someone handle that job. mark your driveshaft so it is "clocked" correctly when you put it back together. a driveline vibration is very aggravating later on .... you don't want to remove that shaft without someone around...just be safe..... Thanks Tommykelly, I have removed drive shafts from cars, replaced the universal joints and put them back, did that a lot on a Luv truck. :-) I hope there is not much different between a MH and a car. Thanks again for the help.Re: 1988 Gulf Stream. They want $150 an hour to remove the drive shaft, it should not take that long, I remove it. the tow truck driver said when I remove it, I must have one of the back wheels off the ground or it will twist on me, break or hurt what ever it hits. :-) Thanks again for the info.Re: 1988 Gulf Stream. Yes, I am needing it towed now. Removing the driveshaft would solve my immediate problem, but might not solve a problem down the road if I drive it and the autobrake locks up. I have read a lot of stories about the brakes coming on while driving and when you park it someplace then cannot move when you want to leave. I am trying to think ahead while it is sitting in my driveway, now is the time to work on it.Re: 1988 Gulf Stream. Auto Parking brake, not GM/Workhorse. Auto Parking brake, not GM/Workhorse.Not sure I have this in the right forum, if I do not I apologize, not sure where to put it. I have a 1988 Gulf Stream classic, it has the 460 Ford motor and is on a John Deere chassis. This has the auto brake on it behind the transmission. It does not have a manual parking brake. I need the MH towed now, need the parking brake off, and have heard so many different things about the brake coming on when driving or parked people cannot move, I am wanting to put a switch that will release the break when I want to, not all the time, just when and if I have trouble and/or needed towed. I am wondering if it has a actuator or solenoid that if no 12v on it that is what sets the break. If it does, I connect a switch to put 12v on it and release the brake. I looked at the GM/Workhorse, but it is not the same as the one I have, have been told that. This is not a it is NOT a GM/Workhorse autopark. I have contacted oldusedbear and he has no information on what I have. If I could find a wiring diagram or something that can tell me how the system works, I think I can figure it out. Thanks in advance for anyone that can help me.
