The manual we received was very generic and was not much help at all. Im gonna try the new info out and see what happens. How do I tell when the tank is full, Im assuming by looking at the tank panel that has the other tanks info (gray water, black water levels)Re: Cant for the life of me figure out how to fill water tank? The tank flush port is right beside the port I'm using. So I'm good on not mixing the two up.. Ive have searched and searched online and cant find any useful manuals. I have had the faucet open and water running to no avail.. Unless maybe I didn't have it open long enough. I would assume I could hear something running, (air, water pump) something but cantCant for the life of me figure out how to fill water tank?We have a 2016 XLR 24hfs. We have managed to camp at places that have all had water hook-ups except one. So I thought ok, no big deal. We can fill the water tank... Not so simple, or I am a moron, one of the two and Im leaning toward the latter. The hose connection has a valve on it. On way says city water, turn the valve other way and it says tank fill... I put it on tank fill, let the water run for a bit then turn the water pump on. Nothing. There is a lighted switch in the box that only lights up once your go in the camper and turn the water pump to on. after that I have no clue what to do. Any tips here fellas?Re: Refer question.. How long will it stay cold? smkettner wrote: There is (was?) a cap on the fridge vent. Seems like an odd circumstance for starting the fridge on propane.... Not when there is a low awning in your way :( I had a quick peek from the ground at lunch at the trailer. It looks like its some venting that the cover came from. I can see the "chicken wire". Im gonna try and get up there after work and see what all she broke.Re: Refer question.. How long will it stay cold?Well, good news. She was able to get the gas turned on without me lol.. Bad news, She knocked something off the roof. Looks like some kind of cover. Its not the air conditioner or a skylight. It looks like its over where the refrigerator would be. I havent seen the trailer in person yet so Im not sure what it is. Ill check it out this afternoon when they get back.Re: Refer question.. How long will it stay cold?So purging the line by lighting the stove is necessity? Or can I just turn the valve on the tanks to on and go? Seems like there is two trains of thought here.Re: Refer question.. How long will it stay cold?"Use the propane" I get it lol... And after this trip we will be. Any place I can go online and read up on how to use the system. Im sure it states it in the manuals but Im at work and wanted to read up on stuff if I could. It cant be a simple as just turning the knob on at the tanks and viola its done. What else is involved?Re: Refer question.. How long will it stay cold?Sorry guys The trailer is a 2016 XLR 24HFS. And yes I am going to be looking into the whole "turning the gas on" option. Just this trip doesnt lend itself to trying new things, as I will not be there to make sure everything is doing what its supposed to do. We could easily just pack the coolers and travel the way we have been. I just thought maybe we could get by with plugging the fridge in the day before then loading it up with the cold food the next day and we would be fine.Re: Refer question.. How long will it stay cold? The door wont be opened at all once the food is packed in there... Its a bumper pull camper so everybody is up front in the tow vehicle. once she gets to where she is going then she can hook up to electric. We have done really well up to this point and not really had the need to use the gas. We do not have an oven (and havent needed to stove cook top) and anything we have needed to cook, we have used our little charcoal grill. We also have a little portable gas grill and the microwave. My work schedule is not going to allow me to fondle with the trailer before she leaves, other than hooking the trailer to the truck. But I will be reading up on the gas system soon. The guy at the dealership told us to never turn the gas on while the trailer was in transit so I never even thought of that as an option..Im glad to know that from here on out I will be able to cool my fridge down before we actually make it to the campsite.Re: Refer question.. How long will it stay cold?Well We have had the camper for a little over a month. Have used it 3 times and have not used the propane yet. I havent familiarized myself with the system yet. And my GF will taking the trip with her kids with out me. She has seen me set up the camper, but she has not seen me mess with the gas, so Im not sure shes ready for that just yet. And by "plugging it in" I mean plugging the camper up to the house for power the day before they load up and leave. The gas sounds like the option we would need, but we wont be able to make it happen this go around... Mainly just trying to see how long the Fridge will stay cold after we disconnect power.
