This helps when emptying the tank as the water is soft and it all slides out easily. We just returned from a month long trip out west and we have a 45-50 gal (I think)black tank and we emptied after each stay of at least 3-5 nights. A lot would depend on how much we used it - if we were out sightseeing all day or spending time around the trailer and using the toilet more. Some places we were stopped for a week others 4 nights.Off to Yellowstone and Mount RushmoreWe are leaving with our travel trailer for a trip from Frankfort, Illinois (just south of Chicago) to Jackson, Wy, Yellowstone National Park, Mount Rushmore and the Badlands. Can anyone please tell us of things to do, or places which are must see... or not see... We plan to travel on I-80 west and return on I-90 then south to Frankfort again. We will be away about 4 weeks in all. Thank you in advance for your help. AngelaRe: Looking for model with rear kitchen jl and dg wrote: Hey all! We have a 2014 Amerilite 255BH. We bought the bunkhouse specifically because my mother was camping with us. She has passed away now, and I am going to trade for something with a rear kitchen. Any suggestions on the best model? We have a 2013 Ford 150 4 x 4 to pull with. Thanks! Did you get a new trailer? We have a Jayco Eagle 266RKS and love it. Not only does it have the rear kitchen but it has a closet and 4 drawers beneath the closet for clothing etc. and the bathroom has a wonderful corner shower and a floor to ceiling linen closet. It also has a 83 gal fresh water tank and two grey water tanks and the black water tank. We love it. AngelaRe: When will gas stations start truly accommodating trailers? You sound just like my husband and I have to agree with you too. I have often thought that there should be a Forum here for good Gas Stations - sorted by State. I wonder if it could be done? Then whenever you find a good gas station you can add it to the list. We have a Pilot/Flying J card and we use their gas stations whenever we can - and their App on the iphone will tell you where the nearest stations are, if they have dedicated RV lanes and if they accept the card - and a lot more. After using the stations you can also rate them and comment as to how good they are or aren't. Loves gas stations also have a similar App and that is useful too. I have also downloaded Trucker Pro App which tells me not only the gas stations around but also rest areas and more. We have used some Shell stations found on this App which have proved to be excellent. Just a few thoughts....Re: Savannah & Charleston Bob Shaw wrote: In Savannah, we usually stay at River's end Campground on Tybee Island. I would recommend taking the trolley ride first off to get your bearing and scope-out things you'd like to go back and see. If you like seafood, we like AJ's Dock-side on Tybee, and The Oyster House on Wilmington Island, the first traffic light when coming off of Tybee Island. These are both mostly locals places and not real touristy. The light-house on Tybee is worth a walk-up for the view. Also it's kinda fun to watch the big ships come-up the Savannah River. Thank You Bob we will have to check it out. AngelaRe: Savannah & Charleston dlos wrote: We just returned from a camping trip to both cities. While camping at Hunting Island State Park in SC we took a day trip to Savannah. It was rainy but we walked around the waterfront area, visited small shops, got a bite to eat and just enjoyed the area. We rode out to Wormsloe Historic Site which was very pretty and worth the ride. We did not pay to go onto the grounds, just took some pictures of the road lined with 400 live oak trees. We changed campgrounds mid-week to Edisto Beach State Park and went into Charleston for a day as well. You have already gotten some great suggestions for Charleston, one activity not mentioned and something we did and enjoyed immensely was taking a cruise on "Fate" a charter sailboat that leaves from the City docks. After spending the day walking around the Battery and Market area it was great to board the boat and sail around the entire peninsula seeing the city from the water. We sailed under the Ravenel bridge, past the old fort in the harbor, Fort Sumter and just about into the ocean, this was everyone's favorite activity of the entire week. Great crew, beautiful boat and a unique experience! Thank you I will check out that sailing experience. It sounds wonderful. We love to sail and have been on a few charter sails here in Ft. Myers area.Re: Savannah & CharlestonThank you everyone for such great suggestions. They look like very interesting and fun places to visit.Savannah & CharlestonWe will be heading From St. Augustine, FL to Savannah and Charleston SC - having never been there before can anyone give me some suggestions of places to see and stay and things to do. Thank you.Re: Rear kitchen. We purchased a Jayco 266RKS and I love the rear kitchen. I think it frees up so much space in the trailer. Our pantry is long and skinny and is the 2 cupboards the full height of the TT. The doors open from the right and with the hinge next to the door - no problem except that there is a pelmet/hard valance over the top of the door and it prevents the doors from opening completely, but I get all the things into the pantry that I need to. I didn't think I would like a rear kitchen but now love it. We tow this with a 2011 Ford F150 with special towing package.
