We have our two Yamaha 2000 generators and will be getting an extra Interstate SRM 27 battery to hook in parallel with the one we received with the trailer. Wondering where members have found or recommend buying things-Amazon, Camping World, Cabelas or smaller RV places?12v or 2 6v batteries? We're buying a Lance 1685 Travel Trailer. The dealership is including one 12v battery. We're buying two Yamaha 2000 generators but thinking we'll still want another battery. Do we buy another 12v or two 6v?Buy 1-2 year old rental unit or private? My partner and I have become serious road trippers- nearly 28,000 miles in the last sixteen months with over 17,000 miles(80+nights sleeping in it) towing our basic Teardrop trailer with my Toyota Corolla that now has over 245,000 miles on it. It's been fun and interesting but time to seriously look at another way of travelling. We're looking at travelling six months and around 15-25k a year during all four seasons. We have ruled out Class A's and aren't that interested in Class B's or having to buy both a travel trailer and fairly new 4x4 truck to tow it with. We have found a very reputable new, used and rental RV business that sells its rental Coachmen Freelander RV's after 1-2 years that vary from around 16-34k miles. They offer the EasyCare RV extended warranty which we feel is critical for us with the amount of miles we will be travelling. Anyone have any experience with buying a fairly new RV this way? If we end up buying from a private owner for cash, it would have to be one that's much older with likely much higher mileage. We were distressed to read that some Ford RV engines and transmissions have to be replaced between 50,000-70,000 miles! Wondering about the Ford v10-6.8 liter on a 350 or 450 chassis. We would also be towing my current car or a fairly new one to be purchased in the near future. Appreciate any advice and feedback! Thank You!Re: Lance 1575 Travel TrailerThank You everyone! Great information and feedback. We will join the Lance Owner Forum.Lance 1575 Travel TrailerBrand new to rv.net forum. My partner and I have become avid road trippers. We have travelled nearly 28,000 miles on four road trips since early November 2013 in my 2000 Toyota Corolla which now has 245,000 miles on it. We have towed a very basic Teardrop trailer for 130 days and over 17,000 miles during that time. We are strongly considering purchasing a used Toyota 4Runner 4WD and a 2015 new Lance 1575 Travel Trailer which we would purchase from the local dealer. RV Trader shows only 13 used Lance 1575 for sale. Assume that means people who have bought them are satisfied? Lance received a very high rating in a Lightweight Travel Trailer book we purchased-only Airstream and a few other manufacturers were rated higher. If we purchase the Lance, we will be getting either two Honda or Yamaha lightweight generators and the kit to hook them together for when we're dry docking. Also upgrading the tires. We have a trip planned to Alaska in May 2016. Since the Lance 1575 is a fairly new model, we would love to have feedback from those who owned them. Would you feel very confident towing and living in it six months a year for, let's say, the next five years without breaking the bank? Another question we have is that we noticed a few dealers on RV Trader who are selling Lance 1575 2015 for incredibly seemingly low prices. Wonder what others experience are with these or thoughts? Appreciate any feedback that might be provided. Thank You!
