I am thankful for the great feedback and for the grand (less nice seafood dinner here on the Oregon coast) in my pocket for a project with a better ROI.Re: Should I swap GC2s out for Lifeline AGM?Great feedback all. Thanks for jumping in with several good points. You have confirmed the doubt that was creeping in as my appointment was getting closer on the swap. I have had no maintenance issues on the present Interstates....never add water when checked and zero corrosion. The $1,000 price included a bluetooth monitoring device, and new cables. Actual battery price is in the ballpark mentioned in your posts. My only desire was to be able to run the batts down more than comfortable doing with present ones, but that is debatable too. Bottom line? I’m cancelling my appointment and pocketing the grand. Might even take my wife out for dinner tonight and brag how clever I am! Thank you all for your excellent points.. Great quick response from my favorite forum.Should I swap GC2s out for Lifeline AGM?Planning to swap out my 2 year old GC2 batteries (Interstate brand) for 2 six volt AGM Lifelines (220 Amp Hour bank). I dry camp several times a year for a few days and want to extend my electrical capacity. I don’t have solar panels but will break up the dry camping with nights in a campground to recharge, and also run the generator a little. I got great service out of a Lifeline AGM bank in a previous rig. My rig is equipped with a “smart” charging system. Do you think it is worth $1,000 to make this upgrade? ThanksRe: Toad behind a class B?Hey EsoxLucius, Man...that list of options on your Unity is interesting. First, you must be a serious boon docker. Second, I am curious why all the aftermarket suspension components? Kinda scaring me a little....I thought life with the B was going to be simple! PM me if you want to followup off-line...or online is fine. Thanks. And yeah...the Spark is a wee one.Re: Toad behind a class B?Thanks all for your input. Exactly the feedback I had hoped for from experienced RVers. Thanks especially for the PMs. The forums really help you think things through and consider different options. I have decided to hold off on the toad for now. We are heading out on our regular winter jaunt to Borrego Springs and will probably rent a car down there, as we spend a month. Also decided to get a bike rack and take the bike for the short errands around town. We may decide we don't even need the car. As you pointed out, a B is pretty darn easy to disconnect and drive around. Excited to take delivery, move in and get on the road to continue the adventure!Toad behind a class B?About to down size from our 30 foot trailer to a class B. I THINK we need a toad. Rig is "rated" to tow 5,000 pounds, but that doesn't mean you want to tow anything that heavy. I don't want to have to tow a Smart or anything that tiny. Maybe a Ford Focus or Chey Sonic (both under 3,000 lbs). New rig is on a 3500 Sprinter chassis and diesel power. Anyone towing a car behind a class B? Thanks, Note: My profile is two rigs old...please ignore. I will update it when we take delivery of new unitRe: Allegro Red 33A, Itasca Meridian 34 B or Newmar Ventana LEThanks all....in spite of model numbers, all the coaches are 36 plus feet in length. Appreciate comment on short wheelbase. That gives me pause on the Tiffin as well. Spoiled by stability of present coach. How about question of dealer and pricing? Thanks.Re: 2014 Thor ACE 29.2 reviewWow! Sorry to hear your report and that it has been such a bad experience. Hope CW gets it back in one piece. Guess that takes the Thor off the table for us! Thank you.Allegro Red 33A, Itasca Meridian 34 B or Newmar Ventana LEHi, We are buying a new class A diesel pusher. We have noarrowed our search to the following| Tiffin Allegro Open Road 33A Itasca Meridian 34 B Newmar Ventana LE We want to stay in the 35-36 range and want as deluxe a coach as we can find. We are full timing and accessibility to State and National Park campgrounds is important. So is a residential fridge....had it with Norcold! How about some feedback on real life experience build quality, initial issues, service with those problems, and even real life experience MPG with the smaller Cummins Engines. Ready to hear the good, bad and ugly...but hopefully more good. Especially in the pricing dept.....to save time haggling. Thanks!Re: How cold should I expect?Old biscuit....you said move the thermistor UP to make fridge cooler? Please confirm. I thought it was the other way. Also, does it make any difference which fin the thermistor is on? Mine is on the 2nd fin from right. I am struggling with new cooling unit in my Norcold. One week old but 500 iles from shop that put it in. Not satisfied with refer temps (40 to 49) but freezer is about 9. Testing with two extra cooling fans below the cooling unit now.
