After considering a lot of things, and talking to the wife, we've gone back to wanting to go back to having a travel trailer instead of a Class A. Much better for our expected use. Thanks for the info, though. Lots to consider. And wow, I didn't know about the Flood damaged RVs - running the VIN, just the free one, shows some issues. Walking away from this one.2004 Forest River Georgetown - questionsObviously I will do a VIN check (paid, unless someone can do one for me) as it looks like it was bought at an auction. Looks to be the model with 2 slides (main room and bedroom). Ford v10, 26,000 miles. 50 Amp, 2 AC units. Claims that it runs perfect and has updated interior. Looks great. Anything I need to know about this model? Red flags? I know the v10 is a great motor and other than the spark plug issue (easily fixed) I think it is solid. F550 chassis I know little about. Thanks for any help!Re: Getting back into the TT game - been ahwile, have some ?s Dick_B wrote: After 10 years are you sure you want to get back in? With the current pandemic likely to be with us for the next year or more I would think now is NOT the time but it's fun to plan and research. Why would you say that? Generally curious.Getting back into the TT game - been ahwile, have some ?sSo, after being out of the TT game for almost 10 years, the wife and me and looking to get back in. History - used to have a rear-bathroom TT, 31 foot, 1 slide. Had a queen bed. Decent setup, but just a little too big for our comfort and close to being on the edge for our tow vehicle. We have a 2015 Expedition that has done a decent job of towing my 8500 pound boat. Most of our camping and towing will be in Florida, so no mountains. Right now we are looking at a few options and wanted some opinions on them, and perhaps some additional suggestions of other makes/models if you think they are better suited for us. Our budget is around $30,000 First up: https://www.rvingplanet.com/mfg-cruiser/twilight-signature-travel-trailer/tws-2620 I like the rear bathroom size, kitchen is well-suited for us, and like that the TV is directly opposite the couch. Big bonus is king-sized bed. Wife and me cannot make a queen work. Second up: https://www.keystonerv.com/travel-trailers/bullet/floorplans/261rbs-travel-trailer/ I like the outdoor kitchen, but two things that are a problem on this one is the queen bed (which would mean the wife would sleep on the dinette bed) and it is about $4000-$5000 more than the Twilight, and I can't seem to understand why the huge price difference. Thoughts and real-world experience on these two brands/manufacturer's would be very helpful. I try hard to maintain my toys, and don't mind fixing things as needed. But I don't want to pay $30k+ for something that is unreliable, poorly-made, etc. I am also budgeting for a carport to park the trailer under to help with degradation from sun, UV, rain, etc. down here in Florida. Am also very open to suggestions of other models/manufacturers with similar designs. VALUE is key to me. I don't mind paying more if I am getting more, especially longevity, reliability, and good support.Re: Original Pull-Rite hitch - I'm stumped on what to do with itProblem is there doesn't seem to be a way to "pin" the hitch in the straight, extended position. The only hole for a pin is for when it is pushed all the way to the left side of the SUV.Original Pull-Rite hitch - I'm stumped on what to do with itJust bought a 2004 Suburban 2500. Person towed a 35 foot toy hauler and has an original Pull-Rite hitch installed. https://www.pullrite.com/pullrite This won't work for my applications (I mostly tow a 25 foot, 8500 pound boat) and using this would wreak havoc on both the hitch and ramps I frequent. So I am having it removed. Does anyone still use these or is there a market for them? I can see the concept being pretty sound and useful for some applications. Just wanted to see if anyone still uses them before I toss it in the landfill.Re: What would you pay for this MH?Got the VIN: 5B4MP67G363417578 Weird - when I look up the VIN number, at least on one site, it says: "Tl*the contact owns a 2006 fleetwood bounder equipped with a workhorse w22 chassis. The contact stated that the front passenger side calipers locked suddenly while he was driving 35 mph. He pulled over using the emergency brake and unlocked the caliper. The contact called the dealer who stated that they would replace the calipers according to recall 09v110000 (service brakes, hydraulic) but would not replace the rotors and brake pads which were also damaged. The contact called the manufacturer who stated that he could submit invoices for the other parts but they would not guarantee reimbursement. The current and failure mileages were approximately 17,000." But this isn't a fleetwood bounder - strange.Re: What would you pay for this MH?LINKWhat would you pay for this MH?https://www.rvtrader.com/dealers/LTD...3641-122703571 Really like it and the layout, assuming it is in very good condition and needs nothing. Seems a bit high $$ wise, though.Re: Craigslist MH for sale - is this common? Thanks - sorta figured.
