The side to side motion caused the trailer to hit the house and broke some shingles and damaging the awning frame a bit. I wonder if I had the bigfoot on the jack stands as suggested above if it would have fared better. I guess that would depend on the rocking motion direction as well. Can too much front to back rocking let it slip off the jack stands? A week prior to this earthquake incident I was actually looking up (Camco 57371 Olympian Telescopic Jack) to place under the bigfoot but was waiting for the prices to go down on amazon - what very bad timing.. but again wonder if it would have saved me from the damage or make it worse if it would have slipped off the stands. I inspected my bigfoot today and it looks like I may have a front jack damage. The screws holding it looks solid and the calk didn't look cracked but the motors on the front jacks are touching the screws (one side of the front jack is touching while the other front motor is very close but not yet touching the screws). I am waiting for the adjuster to show up to inspect the house before doing more inspection on the camper. We live in American Canyon so we were hit very hard by the shaking.Re: Bigfoot Jacks and the CA earthquakeThanks kohldad will do those checks - good suggestion on checking the level of the camper - did not think of that. The rear jacks are as low as possible with the front shocks up higher to keep the camper level when i initially unloaded it from the truck. It was leveled with a bubble leveler back then so that will be a good check now as well. Thanks!Bigfoot Jacks and the CA earthquakeHi all, got a question about the camper jacks and movement due to the earthquake - what should be checked? I got the Bigfoot 15C8.2 which i store on my driveway on its jacks only. The driveway has a slightly sloped so the front jacks are up higher than the rear. The camper is set as low as possible. With the AC earthquake my camper moved back and forth and rested about 1/2 foot from its original location. I will be going to inspect the camper tomorrow. What should I do to visually inspect that no damage was done? I assume making sure the bolts that attach the jacks to the camper is not pulled out. Is there anything else I should be testing (example moving the jacks up and down?)
