Is free dispersed camping allowed in that area? I'm from Tucson but have never camped in the Kaibab National Forest. How's that area off of FR 302? RudyRe: Best 6v battery for a series TNRIVERSIDE wrote: I bought mine at Coctco. Good price. I have been told that the Costco Interstate battery is not he same as the normal Interstate. Costco is in a black case. Interstate is normally in a light color cast. Not sure what is different internally. Visited my local Costco today and the SKU# is 850284. 6 volt GC battery comes with 12-month warranty for $83.99 plus $15 core fee. Battery states RC is 107 but from what I have been able to find, AH is 208. RudyRe: What are your favorite state parks to camp?Catalina State Park here in Tucson, AZ is just 30 minutes from my house. It's a great place to go hike and camp! Rudy Catalina State ParkRoadside Service OpinionHi All, Anyone ever use this roadside service from Costco? Experience with this? I have one and have used it camping in the AZ White Mountains at 9000 feet. No problems whatsoever. Heat like a champ! RudyRe: First Time Boondocking.....Need a few Questions Answered rtate wrote: JiminDenver wrote: Buddy heater at 10'000 Ft? I think they are limited to around 7000 ft unless the sensor fails. Then you die. We camp at 10,000 ft and the furnace runs at night during the summer months too in cooler years. It always runs at night spring and fall when it can get into the 20s. We have only a single 95 Ah grp 27 that runs the trailer and it has never had a problem making it through a night. We would run the generator for a few hours a day when we used one. Now with the solar we never think about it at all. Funny! I dont feel dead. We use a Big Buddy regularly at 9500'. Works fine. Be sure to leave a window cracked open an inch or two I went on a recent camping trip in the AZ White Mountains and at 9300 feet elevation I was very surprised that my Mr. Buddy heater worked so well. RudyRe: High altitude & cloud-free camping in mid-August?Here's a link to the area that I spoke about. http://www.camparizona.com/Campsites/WhiteMtnsCampsites/BLLV_Map.htm Both East & West Fork have large boon-docking possibilities. Wherever you find your camping spot, I hope you have a great time! RudyRe: High altitude & cloud-free camping in mid-August?I live in AZ and do a lot of camping up in Big Lake, AZ. Great place to camp at 9000 feet. Big Lake is about 30 miles from Show Low, AZ but has great boon-docking locations all around it. Rudy
